We have launched the world’s first fully electric bitumen bucket melter.

The Ebucket is a fully electric, plug-in bucket-warming system for bitumen compounds, delivering a safer and more efficient alternative to traditional LPG and gas-torch methods.

The all-electric suite of heating systems from ITE can be used for drying substrates, melting bitumen compounds, activating adhesives, and precision heating in controlled conditions. The Ebucket extends this capability into bucket-based applications, including small-area works such as balconies or hard-to-reach roof sections.

The Ebucket is a breakthrough in flameless roofing technology and delivers safer, cleaner, and more efficient on-site heating. It eliminates the need for open flame processes such as ‘burning out’ bitumen buckets with gas torches, supporting a broader shift towards flameless, emission-free site operations.

Founder of Imperial Thermal Engineering (ITE) and creator of the Eseries, Jonathan Forbes-Brown, said: “The Ebucket represents a major step forward in how the industry approaches heating on site. For too long, open flame has been accepted as standard practice, despite the risks it brings. We’ve designed the Ebucket to remove that risk entirely, replacing it with a clean, controlled electric system that performs better and keeps operatives safer.

“Electric technology removes the hazard rather than trying to manage it, and that’s where the future of roofing equipment lies. The Ebucket is built to integrate seamlessly into real working environments. It heats quickly, cleans easily, and supports a safer way of working without compromise on performance.”

The Ebucket operates using a 415V, 3-phase, 16-amp power supply (UK and Europe) and can be plugged directly into an Epot system or compatible power source. Once connected, the system heats rapidly and begins warming the compound within minutes.

Key operational features include;

  • Non-stick coated aluminium buckets for efficient heat transfer and easy release

  • Automatic heat-up and cool-down cycle

  • Temperature-locked system to prevent overheating

  • Plug-and-play operation for ease of use

  • Compact, manoeuvrable chassis for site flexibility.

The system is designed so that once work is completed, buckets can be easily emptied and cleaned with minimal residue due to the non-stick coating. By removing flame from the heating process entirely, the system eliminates risks associated with flash ignition and vapour-related fires.

The Ebucket can also be used with or without an Epot system, offering flexibility for contractors working across varied environments and project scales. ITE is currently offering Ebucket contractor trials and site demonstrations across the UK. Pricing starts from less than £15 per week (subject to terms).
