Imperial Thermal Engineering (ITE) welcomed contractors and industry partners to a successful demonstration day this month (April 2026), hosted at Lester Cladding in Flintshire, North Wales.

The event showcased ITE’s innovative Eseries range and highlighted a clear shift towards safer, electric-powered solutions across the sector.

The day began with an introduction from manufacturers, Alumasc Roofing, followed by a presentation from the owner and founder of ITE, Jonathan Forbes-Brown, who provided insight into the specialist equipment behind the Eseries.

His session, which encouraged the multiple contractors, quantity surveyors and other roofing specialists in the room, to “…look at the cause, not the symptoms,” focused on the importance of removing fire risk at source rather than managing it after the fact.

Contractor backing

A key highlight of the day was the strong endorsement from North-West representatives of main contractor, Willmott Dixon, who are committed to leading their business and the industry in going flame-free. Look out for the Eseries appearing on their project sites during 2026 as a key part of that journey.

“This is the change we are going to make,” said one representative from the company, outlining plans to roll out electric systems as part of a wider initiative to improve both sustainability and health and safety for the company. Their first no-flame site is set to begin this summer on a project for Cheshire Police.

Live demos

Throughout the day, attendees saw live demonstrations of the Epot, Etorch 3, Etorch Max and the new Ebucket, which has recently launched (more info soon!).

The Eseries technology drew strong interest, particularly its ability to operate safely and efficiently with just a single power lead. The Epot’s intelligent design allows it to regulate temperature automatically, while equipment can be safely left on standby overnight - saving time on site without compromising safety.

Jonathan also shared the thinking behind the innovation of the Eseries. Having spent more than 30 years in roofing, he spoke candidly about the risks associated with gas equipment and the sleepless nights it can cause. He said his focus has always been clear: “…to develop electric alternatives that eliminate those risks entirely - it won’t be long until the gas is gone.”

ITE’s team also reinforced their hands-on support for customers, with the ability to be on-site within 24 hours when needed.

The future is all-electric

ITE’s commitment to innovation continues, with the upcoming launch of the Epot Series 9 later this year, offering increased capacity to melt compound, to help meet growing demand.

The event was a resounding success, with strong engagement from contractors and clear momentum behind electric solutions.

A big thank you goes to Lester Cladding for their hospitality and for hosting such a productive and enjoyable day, helped by some welcome sunshine.
